Togatus is the independent student media at the University of Tasmania, by students, for students. It is a place for discussion, debate, and dissent on any aspect of the university student experience. Togatus offers a fun, collaborative working environment where freedom of expression and creativity is encouraged.

Contract: Immediate commencement, term ending in 30th November 2017. Renumerated by honoraria (to be negotiated)

Demand: Minimum 5 hours per week.


The Administrative Officer works with all members of the team to ensure that the administrative needs of the outlet are being addressed and well-coordinated. This position reports to the Editor-in-Chief.

The duties of this position include:

  • Monitoring media alerts.
  • Keeping the Togatus calendar up-to-date.
  • Monitoring and checking off online contact submissions.
  • Filing communications, invoices, etc.
  • Basic communications such as writing emails regarding standard inquiries.
  • Attend all meetings organised by the Editor-in-Chief, as required.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must be currently enrolled at the University of Tasmania.

Desirable Skills

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills with great attention to detail. They will also possess high quality research skills, and good organisation and time management. They will also have a good understanding of the Togatus brand and will be committed to the development of the student media outlet.
